Bella Spring is a celebration of nature’s luminosity — a porcelain embodiment of the moment when the golden blossoms of the ipê amarelo ignite the sky in brilliant contrast to the deepest blue.
In 2024, Bella Spring was honored with the Dolls Awards of Excellence, receiving her trophy as one of the outstanding creations of the year. She is a limited edition of six, each sculpted, molded, fired, hand-painted and assembled by me with absolute dedication to the craft of fine art BJDs. My intention was to eternalize in porcelain a fragment of nature that has defined my creative journey — the luminous spring scene that has inspired me deeply and repeatedly, calling me back year after year. Every detail of Bella Spring carries this devotion: ✧ The Sculpture Her serene expression and delicate anatomy were sculpted to capture the quiet, contemplative beauty of spring — the feeling of witnessing something ephemeral yet unforgettable. ✧ The Porcelain High-fire porcelain, cured through multiple kiln cycles, brings purity, luminosity, and permanence to her presence. Each layer of china paint is delicately applied and fired, building depth, warmth, and life into her features. ✧ The Dress: A Mirror Between Artist and Creation Bella Spring wears a gown crafted from pure silk, entirely hand-painted to reflect the golden petals of the ipê and the expansive Brazilian sky. To fully honor this vision, I created an identical dress for myself — because some artworks invite the artist to inhabit the very universe she is bringing to life. ✧ The Articulation As a true BJD, Bella Spring features a full ball-jointed system engineered with steel springs and hooks, allowing expressive, fluid posing that enhances her storytelling essence. ✧ The Edition A strictly limited edition of 6 dolls worldwide — each one individually crafted and completely unique. Each doll in this edition carries its own subtly unique energy, ensuring that no two are ever identical. ✧ The Collector’s Experience Bella Spring arrives in a custom-designed box — one of the most meaningful and beautiful I have ever created — crafted to reflect the same poetic vision that inspired the doll herself. |

My name is Tatiana Tofaneto, and I have been creating dolls since 2005.
I began working with porcelain in 2011, developing numerous limited editions and one-of-a-kind art dolls — many of which have found their homes with collectors around the world.
Throughout these years, my work has been honored with several awards, including one received in person at the ID&TS Doll Show in the United States.
In addition to creating my own art dolls, I have dedicated myself to teaching and sharing this craft in my home country, helping others discover the beauty and complexity of doll making.
For many years, my creations were known under the name DollEssence.
Today, I am stepping into a new chapter of my artistic journey — one that unites my work with the natural world, which I feel is my life’s purpose.
For this reason, I now sign my creations simply with my own name.
